Invitation from the President of IFCC

Graham BeastallDear Colleagues,
On behalf of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) it gives me great pleasure to invite you to participate in EuroMedLab Milano 2013. Whether you work in a hospital, a university, in private practice or in the diagnostics industry EuroMedLab in Milano will be the place to be from May 19-23, 2013.
This will be a special conference held in a brand new congress centre in the wonderful city of Milano. It is an opportunity to blend excellent science and clinical medicine with history and culture whilst renewing or making new friends and colleagues.
The Congress Organising Committee, under the chairmanship of Professor Mauro Panteghini, is already at an advanced stage. I am certain that Mauro and his team will do an outstanding job in delivering a programme of high quality and interest containing innovative ideas and of direct relevance to modern clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine. The accompanying industrial exhibition will provide information and advice on the most up to date equipment, diagnostics, informatics and professional practice.
These are exciting times in the world of laboratory medicine. It is now recognised that laboratory medicine data contributes to ~70% of all clinical decisions. Therefore, laboratory medicine specialists and the diagnostics industry have a responsibility to work together to convert data into knowledge which can be used to add value to the investigation of patients.
EuroMedLab Milano 2013 will be the perfect place to acquire knowledge and learn how to use it to maximum patient benefit.

I look forward to seeing you in Milano

Yours sincerely
Graham H Beastall

Invitation from the President of EFLM

Ian D. WatsonDear Colleagues,
I extend an invitation to you to participate in EuroMedLab 2013. The European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EFLM) are delighted to be associated with the city of Milano, capital of the region of Lombardy, with its rich history pre-dating the Romans right up to the present day as a recognised city of fashion and design. Clearly this will be a wonderful opportunity to visit or renew acquaintance with one of Italy's main cities.
We plan a high quality, broad spectrum scientific programme which, allied with the attractions of Milano, will make this a great opportunity for attendees to nurture not only their scientific but their cultural development. Of course there is the opportunity to renew old acquaintances, make new ones and together help to develop our common interest in advancing the specialty of clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine.
This will be yet another memorable EuroMedLab meeting and enhanced by the undoubted attractions of Milano.

Yours sincerely
Ian D. Watson

Invitation from the President of SIBioC

Giuseppe CastaldoDear Colleagues,
EuroMedLab 2013, the 20th European Congress of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, offers an exciting combination of high-level scientific learning from world experts with a chance to experience the cultural hub of Milano. With hundreds of networking opportunities and broad global media coverage, participants at this congress will receive the latest updates from an exceptional array of speakers.
This event offers both plenary lectures of very high scientific level and classical symposia also involving young scientists presenting selected oral communications: young researchers are particularly encouraged to apply to attend the congress. Also, there will be Educational Workshops sponsored by industries, but, for the first time, they will be under the direct overview of the Scientific Programme Committee to become  integral part of the congress.
Besides conference activities, you will have an opportunity to visit the remarkable international Milano. Here you can delve into a multiplicity of experiences: Milano is at the forefront of the Italian economy, acting as a strategic centre not only for the manufacture of industrial goods, but also for the production and dissemination of information, values and culture in the arts and sciences. This is also a city that knows how to have fun and to entertain its guests. It has an almost overwhelming range of historical buildings and art treasures, galleries full of modern art exhibitions, cafes, restaurants and fabulous shops.
I do hope that you will attend EuroMedLab 2013 and I am sure that you will enjoy the science, the arts and Milano’s warm atmosphere.
I look forward to welcoming you in Milano.

Yours sincerely,
Giuseppe Castaldo
